7 DAYS > CLASSICAL GREECE TOUR
Day 1. Arrival Athens airport. Private transfer from the airport to your hotel in Athens center. Overnight in Athens.
Day 2. Half day Athens city tour. Tour starts with short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896. Continue and pass by bus by the Prime Minister’s residence (ex Royal Palace) guarded by the Evzones in their colorful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library & the Constitution Square (Syndagma). Final stop is Acropolis and the new Acropolis museum.
Afternoon half day tour to Cape Sounio. Departure from Athens, the bus pass along the coastal road and the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni & Varkiza to the most southern point of Attica, Cape Sounion, where the white marble pillars of the Temple of Poseidon stand (visit). On the way back one can have a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf and the little islands offshore. Return to Athens late in the afternoon. Overnight.
Day 3. Morning departure for the 4-Days Classical Tour. Drive by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal (short stop). We continue with the visit of the Epidaurus Theatre, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then proceed to the town of Nafplio (short photo stop), drive on to Mycenae and visit of the archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. After the visit, departure to Olympia (the cradle of the Olympic Games) through central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Overnight and dinner in hotel at Olympia.
Day 4. Morning visit of the Olympia archaeological site with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Museum. Then drive on through the plains of Eliad and Achaia until the magnificent bridge which is crossing the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion, pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpaktos (Lepanto) and Itea and arrives in Delphi. Overnight and dinner in hotel at Delphi.
Day 5. Morning visit of Delphi (archaeological site & museum) Departure to Kalambaka, a small town stated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora gigantic rocks. Overnight and dinner in hotel at Kalambaka.
Day 6. Morning visit of Meteora and the monasteries. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, Thermopylae (short stop to see across the road the Leonida’s Monument). Arrival in Athens early in the evening. Overnight in hotel in Athens.
Day 7. Departure private transfer from your hotel to the airport.
